Well done to all our juveniles who took part in the 2nd and penultimate leg of the Cross Country League on a lovely course in Trim on Sunday and earning points for the cause. Their races were the build-up for the Masters races where the ladies ran 4k and saw a brilliant run from Linda Fahy who placed 3rd overall and 2nd over 45. Jackie Glennon is getting right into this racing lark with a fine run and moving up the age ladder a bit, the over 50 ladies team of Teresa Ennis, Nora Connolly and Ann Sharp won team silver on 93 points on countback with Mrs Ennis getting an individual bronze over 50 medal to add to her bling collection.
Shane McCaul ran a brave race in the mens race over 6k which attracted a big field and although tiring on the last of 3 laps he held on for 8th to lead the over 35 team to bronze medals. Benny Byrne’s silver medal over 55 and Declan Butler standing in to receive Dave McCann’s over 45 bronze medal were the other highlights on a good racing day.
Well done All – full results will be posted on Meath Athletics.
