The “Battle of the Boyne” site at Oldbridge provided the historic and scenic setting for the first of the Meath Cross Country Championships on sunday where we had a record turnout of Juveniles with Samuel Connolly winning an individual silver medal at under 14 level and all the teams packing really well.
The Boys Under 16 team took silver while the Boys under 10 and Girls under 12 squads both won team bronze.
Our girls under 10 were 4th team, The boys under 12 were 5th and our girls under 14 squad were 6th.
Shane McCaul was an excellent 3rd in the Novice mens race over 6,000 metres and led his team of Evan Scully, Gavan Maher, Terry Brady, Keith Wickham, Ciaran Purcell, Dave McCann, Ger Tully and Anthony Fairbrother to team gold – Their first win in this event since 2015.
Great efforts everyone – next championship race are the uneven ages and Intermediates next Sunday 13th October at Frayne Athboy with a 12 noon start.
